The California Hazardous Materials Investigators Association
(CHMIA) is committed to providing financial aid to those members who
wish to broaden their knowledge and experience for the purpose of
becoming more effective in their efforts to enforce environmental
laws and regulations.
TRAINING
GRANT APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Training grant
applicants must be a CHMIA member for a period of six months before
being eligible to receive a training grant.
- Training
grants are for tuition reimbursement only. Related costs
for materials not included as part of the tuition fee, will
not be reimbursable by training grant funds. Training grants
will not be awarded for tuition reimbursement for the CHMIA
Annual Training Conference because of the modest registration
fee charged and fact that the conference is highly subsidized
by the Association.
- Members are eligible
for one training grant per calendar year. Any additional training
grant requests will require Executive Board approval.
- Training grant
funds will be awarded for training tuition on a pre-approved reimbursement
basis only. Training grants will be limited to a maximum of $450.00
per class. Grants in excess of $300.00 will require Executive Board
approval.
- CHMIA members
should apply for a training grant as far in advance of the training
class as possible. Training grants will be approved, and the member
notified of the approval, prior to the beginning of the requested
training.
- Training grant
applications can be downloaded
here, or obtained by contacting your Regional
Director.
- Completed applications
can be e-mailed or mailed by conventional means to your Regional Director
or the CHMIA main
address. The appropriate Regional Director will review all training
grant requests. Approved requests will be forwarded to the Treasurer.
Members should receive notification of the approval status of their
training grant request within 10 days. Members will be informed as
to the reason for any training grant request that is not approved.
If you do not receive a response within 10 days, call your Regional
Director.
