This training is designed to provide first responders and Regulators with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to recognize incidents involving hazardous materials. Participants will learn how to identify potential hazardous materials incidents, recognize associated hazards, protect themselves and others, and initiate appropriate notifications and response actions.
Course Topics Include:
* Recognition and identification of hazardous materials incidents
* Hazardous materials classifications and common hazards
* Placards, labels, markings, and shipping papers
* Personal safety and protective actions
* Isolation and evacuation considerations
* Emergency notification and communications
* Recognition of potential exposure and contamination
